In my copious free time I'm working on a poem - maybe a poem of epic length though not of epic importance - built out of all the annoying advertising slogans of our life. My top is "five, five, five dollar footlong, any any."
A Swedophile, I've knocked around the US, serving in a variety of Lutheran churches before finally settling into my final career as Communication Educator. I'm also a theatre person, teaching mostly communication courses, but doing one show a year for our department. My research interest is ethnic humor - particularly the jokes told by Swedish Americans and the images of Swedish Americans in films of Hollywood's "Golden Era."
